Cinnamon Bazaar is a modern Indian restaurant inspired by bazaars across India and the rest of the world. This restaurant will definitely catch your attention with their vibrant decor and facade.
I absolutely loved the interior, it was very unique and gave the place atmosphere. My favourite was definitely the baby pink and gold wallpaper (as you probably saw on my instagram picture)
Their menu consisted of snacks, small plates, main dishes and deserts. It was hard to decide what to order because most dishes had a very unique combination of ingredients.
We started off with two cocktails; Bazaar Old Fashioned and a Gin Julep.
The Gin Julep had bombay, green mango, mint and black cardamom. It was a really refreshing drink because of the fruity touch, and I loved the presentation of it. Maybe it’s just me but I love getting a pretty looking cocktail – they are so photogenic!
The Bazaar Old Fashioned was really interesting because they added burnt cinnamon so it gave it an Indian-feel.
To start off our meal we went with two starters; Samosa chaat: Punjabi vegetable samosa, 5.75 curried white peas, tangy tamarind chutney and Jodhpuri kachori chaat: Spiced onion dumplings, curried white peas, chutney medley.
Both dishes had so much flavour, with the combination of the chutney, yogurt, and curry. They were really interesting because there was so many things on top of them, but it all went together so well. It also tasted really fresh, which made it taste even better!
For main course we ordered; Lucknow style chicken biryani, burhani raita; Indo-Chinese chicken wings with burnt chillies; and a selection of Naan.
Whenever I go to an Indian restaurant I always order Biriyani because I love rice-based dishes, especially when they have a lot of flavour. I really enjoyed the Biriyani because there was a lot of chicken inside, which was really tender and tasty. It also was complemented with a delicious burhani raita that added a bit of extra flavour.
The chicken wings were delicious because they were the right amount of crispiness. I also love spicy food so that was a hit for me. However, I probably would go for a more authentic dish next time to try more of the Indian flavours.
The Naan bread went well with everything, it was crisp to perfection and had a great flavour!
As I always say, there’s always room for dessert! So, we went for the; Dark chocolate and walnut cake with Malacca coffee ice cream; and the carrot halwa roll with clove ice cream.
The dark chocolate and walnut cake was really good, it was quite light for a chocolate cake, which was nice. It also went really well with the Malacca coffee ice cream.
The next dessert was an interesting one…. carrot halwa roll with clove ice cream. So it was two different type’s of carrots inside a spring-roll type pastry. I wasn’t sure what to think initially, but I actually really enjoyed it.
Another thing that I loved about this place was their teapots, they were all unique designs and they were all just so pretty – I wish I could have taken one home!
Overall, I really enjoyed Cinnamon Bazaar. The service was excellent and all of the staff were really friendly, and the food was all delicious filled with lots of flavour and fresh ingredients.
