The winter months in London are my favourite, the streets are littered with bright lights, the shops are crammed with decorations and gifts, and the restaurants are filled with spirit.

Coppa Club took a different approach this winter – dining in igloos. And it has proved to be a great success, you will be lucky to get in before Christmas!

Coppa Club has definitely got to have one of the best views in London – on the left you look over London Bridge, and on the right you look over the Shard.

Each igloo sits around 8 people, if you are a big group you can get one big to yourself or if you are less than a group of 5 you can get an igloo with two separate tables.

The igloos have heaters for those chilly winter nights – and music to set the mood.

To start we tried three different cocktails; maple old fashioned, toasted nut sours, and sloe gin sling.

For mains we opted for the Hamburger, Tomahawk pork chop, and Coppa Club hot pizza.

The burger was not my favourite dish, as the meat was quite dry and lacked flavour – so if you’re a burger lover, I would go for something else on the menu.

The Tomahawk pork chop was a great dish, the meat was cooked well and had lots of flavour.

The Coppa Club hot pizza was thin and crispy – the perfect combination. It was delicious but it was very spicy, so if you’re not a chilli lover then I would ask them to leave out the fresh chills on top.

For the next round of cocktails, we had a cherry manhattan, sex on the beach (with a twist) and lastly, a specially made one by the head bar tender.

I had to ask for the recipe for the secret cocktail – it was delicious! (and tasted very christmassy) So here you go, to make at home this christmas:

  • 50ml of Vodka infused with cinnamon
  • 25ml of lime juice
  • 30ml of apple juice
  • 15ml of vanilla syrup
  • 4 pieces of blackberries

After a loads of cocktails and big main courses, we chose to go for (lighter) desserts – a fruit platter and a panna cotta.

The fruits were very fresh and juicy – a perfect way to refresh after a big meal.

The panna cotta was great, it had a good consistency and lots of flavour. However, I was not too keen on the granola on top, personally I didn’t think it complemented it very well.

Coppa Club was a great experience, you really got that christmassy feeling while dining in an igloo. Overall the food was good, there is definitely room for improvement, however their cocktails were spectacular!
